To give your members the option of instalment payments, this must be determined by the competition organiser i.e. the association. Affiliate clubs of the association are not able to alter these parameters set by the association however can chose to whether to enable them for their members if the association has offered them. If the affiliate clubs wish to allow their members to chose their own instalment options, we recommend setting up a Payment Plan for them. You can find more information here. Instalments and Payment Plans can both be offered within the same competition.
During the registration set up on the Payments tab, you will see various options available:
1 | To enable instalments for your competition, select Instalments |
2 |
This will default to the first instalment payment due at the time of registration To add more instalment dates, select Add Instalment Date |
3 | Enter the dates you would like the member to make each payment on. You can make as many as you like. Then select Next at the bottom of the screen to save the changes |
IMPORTANT:
If the participant's BQ membership fee is due at the time of registration, they will be charged this along with the first instalment payment at the time of registration. If your association has a 365 association membership, this will also be charged at the time of registration.
The total fees less the BQ fee will be separated evenly and charged at each instalment date set by the competition organiser.
If an instalment payment fails, this will display as failed registration next to the participant on the Registration dashboard, User profile and Finance Payment screen. Participants can retry the failed payment at anytime via their user profile or with their permission, administrators can retry the failed payment on behalf of the participant in the Registration module dashboard or in the participant's User profile.
If a failed payment is not retried, it will be charged along with the next instalment payment on the date allocated.
If a participant registers to the competition after any instalment dates have passed, they will be charged for any past instalments at the time of registration to ensure they are paid up to date and you receive your payments in a timely manner according to your set parameters.
N.B. Government vouchers and discount codes cannot be used when electing to pay by instalments. If your participant wishes to use a government voucher or discount code, we suggest offering them a Payment Plan.
