A BasketballConnect release is scheduled for the 8th of March 2024.
Admin Console Changes
Officials Module - New Dashboard View
In Officials Module > Dashboard
You can now get a snapshot as to how many referees have responded to allocations as: Accepted, Declined & No Response.
Other Relevant Items:
1. If a referee declines a request, they will have to write an explanation as to why they are declining.
2. If the Administrator then exports this page above, they can see a report of all responses which even includes the explanation as to why someone declined an allocation.
Officials Module - View All Competitions for Referee Availability
In Officials Module > Officials tab > Referee Availability
You can view and filter by all competitions at once when searching for referee availability.
Teams Module - Add Participant Now Allows Search
In Teams Module > Select Comp In Filter Box > Create Participant Button
When adding a Coach, Manager or Team Official in the Teams Module, you can now search for an existing registration/user linked to your Association/Clubs database.
Draws Screen - You Can Now Rename Round Names
In Fixtures Module > Select Comp > Own Competitions tab > Draws
Once you have selected a competition in the drop down box, you will see that a Rename option appears next to the round filter box.
When you click on this box, you can change the name of all generated rounds.
Updated Draw View:
Fixtures Module - Apply Match Formats To Grades & Adjust Round Start Times
In Fixtures Module > Select Comp > Own Competitions tab > Competition Format
You can now apply a custom match and finals format to a grade within a division (e.g different formats for U16 Div 1 and U16 Div 2 if you use grades to seperate the divisions for an age group).
You have the choice to either keep the same round start dates and times that you setup in Competition Details and Time slots, or you can custom adjust them in this section as well.
This works for both regular round matches AND custom finals e.g if you use divisions to seperate age groups, and grades to seperate divisions, you can now make division one for each age group play a certain type of finals with a different time length to division two and three.
Admin Console/App Changes
As Association/Competition Organiser:
In Match Day Module > Select Comp > Settings tab > Settings
As a Competition Organiser, you have the ability to:
1. Allow your clubs (if applicable) to lodge forfeits.
2. Allow managers and coaches assigned to teams to lodge forfeits.
As Club (If Applicable):
In Match Day Module > Select Comp > Settings tab > Settings
As a Club, as long as the Competition Organiser has allowed forfeits to be triggered by the club, you have the ability to:
1. Allow managers and coaches assigned to teams to lodge forfeits, or handle this process yourself as the Administrator.
Note: If a game is forfeited, all participants linked to that game will receive a notification informing them of the cancelled game.
Our support team is going to put together a guide on how coaches/managers can forfeit a game and what that looks like for the club/association competition managers. If you would like access to this guide please contact us at support@basketballconnect.zendesk.com.
App Changes
Borrowed Players Now Have Icon in App View
Now if a player is borrowed on the app, they will be listed with a (B) icon next to their name. You can then click on this icon and a pop-up will appear which will reveal the division that player is being borrowed from. This can be helpful if you need to review that teams have borrowed the correct players or those within the rules stated by the competition organiser.
